Men at Lunch

Inspire – Educate – Inform

An opportunity to attend a presentation featuring topics that will be targeted towards a male audience, followed by an enjoyable steak lunch. Networking opportunities will naturally occur with like-minded businessmen also attending.

We are delighted that our speaker at the next event will be Mike Cratchley from MCA Business Growth Consultancy Coaching & Mentoring.

Mike is a Tees Valley-based business growth coach, mentor and consultant. Over a 40 year career, Mike has formed, grown and sold three very successful small businesses – all with the help of a Business Coach and Mentor. Prior to that, he held senior management roles with Hotpoint, ITT Consumer Electronics and Unipart. He is currently providing his services to SME clients across the UK.

Mike will be opening up the conversation by sharing his own experiences about managing stress and creating a good work/life balance during this lunchtime event.

Fast Lane Business Networking Charcuterie & Connections

The second ‘Charcuterie & Connections’ from Fast Lane Business Networking took place once more at The Curing House, on Bedford Street Middlesbrough earlier this month. Yet again the feedback & responses from the attendees was fantastic, with top marks for the food, ambience & the format of the event echoed throughout. A wide range of guests attended from local businesses including representatives from a major bank, a HR company, a travel agent, an accountant, and digital marketing to name but a few.

The meetings give you an ideal opportunity to take a much needed break away from your desk at lunchtime, and enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in great company. The working lunch has a specially devised menu, which includes the popular charcuterie sharing platters that the restaurant is renowned for. Vegetarians are not forgotten about, a wonderful risotto was served to the non meat eaters, along with all the guests treated to a divine caramel cheesecake with honey popcorn, and salted caramel.

Bookings are now open for the next meeting to be held on Tuesday 15th November, which will be the last event for 2016, due to the busy Christmas period in December. Bookings are in advance only, with payment made through eventbrite, which includes a debit/credit card processing fee. Payment can also be made via an invoice where options include a bank transfer or paypal.

Excellent feedback from the inaugural Charcuterie & Connections

The first meeting for Fast Lane Business Networking was held at The Curing House in Middlesbrough on Tuesday 6th September to coincide with the end of the school holidays, and for many small businesses the first week back to work. Charcuterie & Connections was an opportunity for local businesses to take their lunch away from the office, and enjoy some great food with some great people & have great conversations. With a specially devised menu to cater for meat & non meat eaters the food went down a storm along with the format of the event.

The feedback has been amazing, with comments such as:

the best networking event I’ve ever attended”

“I was massively impressed with quality of food. The coffee was great too!”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the event and felt that I had the opportunity to make a good number of connections. I will definitely be going again”

“It was something different, a bit more “up market” but still affordable”

“I really enjoyed the event, well done”

Fast Lane Business Networking

As a business, In The Fast Lane Events attend & are members of a number of networking groups throughout the North East region. Networking is an essential part of being a service provider, it’s also an opportunity to leave the office for a couple of hours to get out & about to meet up with some great contacts, and perhaps gain some new business. So after trying the majority of networking groups I thought it was about time I arranged my own meetings, meetings I would enjoy attending, but also that were held in a venue that offered great food!

After meeting Sarah Walker, co-owner of The Curing House along with husband Peter, at a local referral group meeting, an initial idea came into my head. From that initial thought and subsequent meeting with both Sarah & Peter, the inaugural event for Fast Lane Business Networking was born!

Charcuterie & Connections at The Curing House, is your opportunity to enjoy great food, with great people in an unique foodie restaurant. Held on a lunch time, the meetings are relaxed but with some structure to the actual networking. An exclusive menu has been especially created for the meeting catering for meat and non meat eaters. As well as great food you’ll also have coffee, tea & soft drinks provided, with an extensive range of alcoholic beverages available to purchase from a well stocked bar.

Bookings are in advance only, and are now open for Tuesday 6th September, with a number of businesses already booked in to attend the event at the Bedford Street restaurant, for more information, to view the menu & reserve you place click here

It will be great to see you attending!

Redcar Racecourse Networking Event

How wonderful it was to see so many familiar faces at Redcar Racecourse on Thursday 26th November, at the North East Chamber of Commerce Local event , in association with In The Fast Lane Events.

As the guests rallied through into the Paddock Suite, the room was a hive of conversation with the relaxed mix & mingle format to the proceedings. After a slightly delayed start to the formalities, with a number of delegates mistakenly driving on to the actual racecourse, we were underway with a welcome from Tom Warnock, NECC Relationship Manager for Teesside & Hartlepool. Tom then handed over to Caroline Smith from Redcar Racecourse who give us a very informative presentation covering the history of the racecourse & an insight into the day to day workings of the business. After a short introduction from In The Fast Lane Events on the ethos of this years NECC Tees Valley events, we then heard from Rachel Anderson, NECC Head of Policy and Representation, on her work with the task force set up in the wake of the SSI closure, and the impact on the Teesside area, with the knock on effect to the supply chain. Guests were then given the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the racecourse, mainly the corporate facilities which are available on race day, and at other times throughout the year for private hire. One guest did ask if the horses were kept at the racecourse, and was relieved to hear the answer was no, this was due to her fear of horses! A few guests were keen to continue networking after the close of the meeting, a sign of a good morning, and another successful event!

North East Home Expo 2015

Great feedback from visitors & exhibitors at the first North East Home Expo held over the weekend at Middlesbrough Football Club.

Although there was less than expected footfall it was a good start, and of great encouragement, to make the North East Home Expo an annual event. Positive feedback from the exhibitors will be certain to make the event grow, and for the word to spread to other trades within the design, build and home improvement sectors.

Jonathan Park, owner of 2020 Lifestyle, decided to launch a show designed for both public and trade, to learn more about local businesses from the home build industry, and to find out more on how they work. After approaching Teesside based events company, In The Fast Lane Events, the North East Home Expo was launched.

The North East Home Expo was held on Friday & Saturday, in the Legends Lounge at Middlesbrough Football Club, and was open to the public between 10am until 4pm on both days. It was a great opportunity for people that were looking to build a new home or to renovate their existing home to speak with the specialists about making their dream home visions a reality. In turn giving exhibitors the chance to generate new business and engage with other professions from the custom, build & design trades.

Jonathan, who specialises in custom installation projects, says “The main objective was to create a show in which the customer could have the opportunity to come along to meet and chat with local businesses, from within the North East. The right people who can help you create your perfect design, and then create your perfect home. We had a number of visitors over the weekend purely looking to build a new home, and were looking for general advice, where others had started the build process and were looking to kit out their home with new technology. When I first came up with the idea of the event I wasn’t too sure if the idea would go ahead, but working with In The Fast Lane Events has reassured me that I was on the right track & I now want go on to make the expo an annual event”

Next year the North East Home Expo would welcome interest from more trades and businesses, including interior designers, bathroom & kitchen specialists, ensuring more exhibitors will be on hand to help the public with their design and build questions.

For more information, and images of the event, please see the North East Home Expo website www.northeasthomeexpo.co.uk
