Fast Lane Business Networking Charcuterie & Connections

The second ‘Charcuterie & Connections’ from Fast Lane Business Networking took place once more at The Curing House, on Bedford Street Middlesbrough earlier this month. Yet again the feedback & responses from the attendees was fantastic, with top marks for the food, ambience & the format of the event echoed throughout. A wide range of guests attended from local businesses including representatives from a major bank, a HR company, a travel agent, an accountant, and digital marketing to name but a few.

The meetings give you an ideal opportunity to take a much needed break away from your desk at lunchtime, and enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in great company. The working lunch has a specially devised menu, which includes the popular charcuterie sharing platters that the restaurant is renowned for. Vegetarians are not forgotten about, a wonderful risotto was served to the non meat eaters, along with all the guests treated to a divine caramel cheesecake with honey popcorn, and salted caramel.

Bookings are now open for the next meeting to be held on Tuesday 15th November, which will be the last event for 2016, due to the busy Christmas period in December. Bookings are in advance only, with payment made through eventbrite, which includes a debit/credit card processing fee. Excellent feedback from the inaugural Charcuterie & Connections

The first meeting for Fast Lane Business Networking was held at The Curing House in Middlesbrough on Tuesday 6th September to coincide with the end of the school holidays, and for many small businesses the first week back to work. Charcuterie & Connections was an opportunity for local businesses to take their lunch away from the office, and enjoy some great food with some great people & have great conversations. With a specially devised menu to cater for meat & non meat eaters the food went down a storm along with the format of the event.

Premier Home Expo Returns

Teesside’s premier home expo returns to the Riverside stadium in Middlesbrough, with an unrivalled showcase making dreams a reality for North East homeowners.

Keen to build on the success of 2015, the expo has expanded further, after the feedback from visitors who visited the inaugural event held last year. The North East Home Expo gives visitors the opportunity to chat informally with professionals from the build, design & interior businesses, allowing them to meet the experts who will offer impartial advice on any issues that home owners may have with their home improvements, renovation projects, DIY mishaps, or on work they are considering in the future. It also allows members of the public to learn more about self-building a new house, an option that more & more people are looking in to as an alternative, rather than moving or expanding their existing home.

With free entry to visitors on both Friday 7th & Saturday 8th October, there will be a wealth of experience offered by the exhibitors already involved, with more space now open to interested companies looking to showcase their work. There is also a growing demand for seminars on both days with a scheduled programme of informative talks & presentations to be compiled soon. As each exhibitor is confirmed there will be promotion of their involvement on social media, along with inclusion in the expo brochure given to each visitor over the 2 days.

Jonathan Park, owner of 2020 Lifestyle, the company behind the expo concept said “For me the idea was a totally a selfish one, spending a lot of time working on other people’s houses I never really got the opportunity to meet other tradespeople, I wanted to devise a show where the public would get to learn more about the do’s & don’ts of home improvement, but also to actually get to know the person you are trusting to do the work on your house. For me as a business it’s a perfect opportunity to get to know the other exhibitors, from a wide range of design, home build & renovating companies, that I could perhaps collaborate on with future projects. We still have some spaces available for more local exhibitors to get involved, we are allowing 2 businesses from each business category which gives members of the public a choice. The predicted footfall is already up on last year with more visitor bookings for Friday & Saturday. Our aim is to make homeowners dream home visions a reality”
