You will have course heard me talk a lot about Fast Lane Business Networking of late, and I now seem to be known as the ‘networking person’ to speak to, which is great. But Fast Lane Business Networking is an event brought to you by my main business which is In The Fast Lane Events.

After the success of Fast Lane Business Networking lunchtime events we are adding ‘After Hours’ to the mix with meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month at The Talbot at Bishopton. 

The events start at 6pm with a delicious selection of canapes on offer along with coffee/tea/soft drinks on arrival. You are more than welcome to purchase alcoholic beverages from the bar. We have an exclusive use of the upstairs function room with private facilities for the evening.

For anyone that has attended our other meetings you will know that they are very relaxed & friendly with the opportunity to build relationships in a non-pressured environment. After Hours is very relaxed too, but with some structure to the event, which will include open networking, a presentation, around the table networking, brainstorming, success stories & one to one networking. Fast Lane Business Networking Charcuterie & Connections

The second ‘Charcuterie & Connections’ from Fast Lane Business Networking took place once more at The Curing House, on Bedford Street Middlesbrough earlier this month. Yet again the feedback & responses from the attendees was fantastic, with top marks for the food, ambience & the format of the event echoed throughout. A wide range of guests attended from local businesses including representatives from a major bank, a HR company, a travel agent, an accountant, and digital marketing to name but a few.

The meetings give you an ideal opportunity to take a much needed break away from your desk at lunchtime, and enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in great company. The working lunch has a specially devised menu, which includes the popular charcuterie sharing platters that the restaurant is renowned for. Vegetarians are not forgotten about, a wonderful risotto was served to the non meat eaters, along with all the guests treated to a divine caramel cheesecake with honey popcorn, and salted caramel.

Bookings are now open for the next meeting to be held on Tuesday 15th November, which will be the last event for 2016, due to the busy Christmas period in December. Bookings are in advance only, with payment made through eventbrite, which includes a debit/credit card processing fee. Excellent feedback from the inaugural Charcuterie & Connections

The first meeting for Fast Lane Business Networking was held at The Curing House in Middlesbrough on Tuesday 6th September to coincide with the end of the school holidays, and for many small businesses the first week back to work. Charcuterie & Connections was an opportunity for local businesses to take their lunch away from the office, and enjoy some great food with some great people & have great conversations. With a specially devised menu to cater for meat & non meat eaters the food went down a storm along with the format of the event.

Fast Lane Business Networking

As a business, In The Fast Lane Events attend & are members of a number of networking groups throughout the North East region. Networking is an essential part of being a service provider, it’s also an opportunity to leave the office for a couple of hours to get out & about to meet up with some great contacts, and perhaps gain some new business. So after trying the majority of networking groups I thought it was about time I arranged my own meetings, meetings I would enjoy attending, but also that were held in a venue that offered great food!

After meeting Sarah Walker, co-owner of The Curing House along with husband Peter, at a local referral group meeting, an initial idea came into my head. From that initial thought and subsequent meeting with both Sarah & Peter, the inaugural event for Fast Lane Business Networking was born!

Charcuterie & Connections at The Curing House, is your opportunity to enjoy great food, with great people in an unique foodie restaurant. Held on a lunch time, the meetings are relaxed but with some structure to the actual networking. An exclusive menu has been especially created for the meeting catering for meat and non meat eaters. Redcar Racecourse Networking Event

How wonderful it was to see so many familiar faces at Redcar Racecourse on Thursday 26th November, at the North East Chamber of Commerce Local event , in association with In The Fast Lane Events.

As the guests rallied through into the Paddock Suite, the room was a hive of conversation with the relaxed mix & mingle format to the proceedings. After a slightly delayed start to the formalities, with a number of delegates mistakenly driving on to the actual racecourse, we were underway with a welcome from Tom Warnock, NECC Relationship Manager for Teesside & Hartlepool. Tom then handed over to Caroline Smith from Redcar Racecourse who give us a very informative presentation covering the history of the racecourse & an insight into the day to day workings of the business. After a short introduction from In The Fast Lane Events on the ethos of this years NECC Tees Valley events, we then heard from Rachel Anderson, NECC Head of Policy and Representation, on her work with the task force set up in the wake of the SSI closure, and the impact on the Teesside area, with the knock on effect to the supply chain. Guests were then given the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the racecourse, mainly the corporate facilities which are available on race day, and at other times throughout the year for private hire. One guest did ask if the horses were kept at the racecourse, and was relieved to hear the answer was no, this was due to her fear of horses! A few guests were keen to continue networking after the close of the meeting, a sign of a good morning, and another successful event!

NECC Local Redcar

Join your local NECC membership advisor Tom Warnock, in collaboration with In The Fast Lane Events at this relaxed mix and mingle networking session in a unique business, within Tees Valley.

You will meet with other businesses from within your area, and have the chance to catch up with your membership advisor to find out more about the benefits of membership, and how your business can take advantage of belonging to the NECC network. After some casual networking you will hear from Caroline Smith, from Redcar Racecourse, about the history, background & day to day workings of the business. Guests will also have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the Racecourse.

Redcar Racecourse

Redcar Racecourse is a full time conference and events centre, benefiting from a prime location within the Tees Valley area. NECC Local Labman

A full house for the recent NECC Local, held at Labman Automation, on Wednesday 30th September!

Members & guests. of the North East Chamber of Commerce, joined membership advisor Tom Warnock, in collaboration with In The Fast Lane Events, at this relaxed mix and mingle networking session in a unique business within the Tees Valley. Those in attendance had the opportunity to hear from George Carter, founder of Labman, followed by a talk and video presentation from MD Andrew Whitwell. After an informative & interesting guided tour behind the scenes of the company, there was plenty of time for further networking with all the businesses in attendance. A huge success with excellent feedback from all that came along to the event.

Labman Automation Ltd manufacture custom robotic solutions for many industrial, laboratory and medical applications. They work with customers worldwide to produce world class automated solutions. Many of their systems are completely unique and are always tailored to each customers specific requirements; this may include anything from custom consumables that allow operators to work more comfortably, dedicated control software that connects to existing infrastructure or a special hand-tool to help remove a tight cap
